Description

1. How it is grown and harvested: Plum growing has a long history in the orchards of Uzbekistan, where fertile soils, mountain irrigation water and long, sunny summers allow plums to ripen fully on the tree. Fully ripe fruit is essential for good prunes: it gives a high natural sugar content, so the prunes are sweet and soft without any added sugar. These prunes are made from Vengerka plums grown in the orchards of Uzbekistan. The fruit is hand-harvested when fully ripe and dried whole with the stone inside, under controlled conditions. This traditional method preserves the plum’s shape and gives a firm, juicy prune with a balanced sweet-tangy taste. Vengerka is a traditional plum variety that has been grown in the region for many decades. Its dark blue fruit, with dense golden flesh, dries well and produces prunes with a firm, elastic texture. Drying is slow and gentle so that the fruit stays juicy inside and keeps a glossy surface.

2. Processing and packaging details: After drying, the prunes are cleaned, sorted by size and condition, and checked for defects and foreign material. They are packed whole in food-grade liners inside export cartons that protect them from moisture and contamination. Store prunes in a cool, dry place (ideally 5–15 °C), away from direct sunlight, in closed packaging so they keep their natural moisture and softness. Under proper conditions the product keeps its quality for 12 months or more. Each lot can be supplied with export documentation, including a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, on request.

3. Health benefits and nutrition: Vengerka unpitted prunes provide dietary fibre and natural sorbitol for digestive health, plus potassium, vitamin K and antioxidants. Their natural sugars give steady energy. The fruit contains a stone. Their balanced sweet-tangy flavour gives compotes a rich colour and pleasant taste. Prunes are naturally fat-free and suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets, and a few prunes a day help add fibre to the diet. Their competitive price makes them a practical, healthy choice for large-volume buyers and families. These prunes are especially suitable for compotes, dried-fruit drinks, stewed fruit and slow-cooked dishes, and for economical retail and wholesale packs.
