Description

1. How it is grown and harvested: Plum growing has a long history in the orchards of Uzbekistan, where fertile soils, mountain irrigation water and long, sunny summers allow plums to ripen fully on the tree. Fully ripe fruit is essential for good prunes: it gives a high natural sugar content, so the prunes are sweet and soft without any added sugar. These prunes are made from the large, dark Ispanka plums grown in Uzbekistan. The fruit is allowed to ripen fully on the tree, hand-harvested, washed and dried slowly under controlled conditions. Keeping the stone inside during drying helps the prune retain its natural shape, a firm yet juicy texture and a deep, sweet flavour. The Ispanka plum is valued for its large size, thin skin and thick, juicy flesh, which makes it one of the best varieties for prune production in the region. Drying is slow and gentle so the prunes stay soft inside and glossy outside.

2. Processing and packaging details: The dried prunes are cleaned, inspected and graded by size and condition, with damaged fruit and foreign material removed. They are packed whole, with the stone inside, in food-grade liners within export cartons that protect them from moisture loss and contamination. Store prunes in a cool, dry place (ideally 5–15 °C), away from direct sunlight, in closed packaging so they keep their natural moisture and softness. Under proper conditions the product keeps its quality for 12 months or more. Each lot can be supplied with export documentation, including a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, on request.

3. Health benefits and nutrition: Unpitted prunes offer the same benefits as pitted prunes: dietary fibre and natural sorbitol for digestive health, potassium, vitamin K and antioxidant polyphenols. Their natural sugars provide gentle, lasting energy. The fruit contains a stone; please take care when eating. Whole prunes are also less processed than pitted ones, and many customers believe they keep their juiciness better. Because they are naturally sweet, they are a healthy alternative to sweets for both children and adults. Whole prunes are ideal for compotes, stewed fruit and dried-fruit drinks, for slow-cooked meat and vegetable dishes, and as a traditional table snack. They are also attractive for value-oriented retail packs.
