Peanut Kernels “Blanched Roasted”
Description
1. How it is grown and harvested: Peanuts have become an important crop for farmers in Uzbekistan, especially in the Fergana Valley and the southern regions, where long, hot summers and light irrigated soils provide the conditions that the crop needs. These kernels come from peanuts grown in Uzbekistan. After shelling, the kernels are blanched to loosen their red skins, which are then removed, leaving smooth, creamy-white kernels. Removing the skin gives the kernels a milder taste and a cleaner colour, which manufacturers often prefer. The peanuts are grown on irrigated fields in Uzbekistan’s hot summers, harvested in autumn and dried in the field before shelling.
2. Processing and packaging details: The peeled kernels are sorted and inspected to remove kernels with remaining skin, broken pieces and foreign matter, and are packed in food-grade, moisture-resistant packaging. They should be stored cool and dry to protect their natural oils. Peanuts must be kept dry and cool (ideally below 15 °C, relative humidity below 65%) to protect quality and prevent spoilage. In-shell peanuts keep their quality for up to 12 months; kernels are best used within 6–12 months in closed packaging. Each lot can be supplied with export documentation, including a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, on request.
3. Health benefits and nutrition: Peeled peanuts provide plant protein, healthy fats, fibre, niacin, vitamin E and magnesium with a mild flavour. Peanuts are a major allergen. The removal of the skin also gives a smoother texture in pastes and butters. Peanuts are naturally gluten-free and a valuable plant protein source for vegetarian and vegan diets. Peeled peanuts are ideal for peanut butter, confectionery, coated nuts, snacks, sauces and bakery products where a clean appearance is needed. Peeled kernels can be roasted, salted or ground, and they are an excellent base for smooth peanut butter and nut pastes. Food producers value peeled kernels because they give a uniform, attractive colour to finished products.
