Laser Rice 0.9 kg
Description
1. How it is grown and harvested: Laser rice is a well-known rice variety grown in the irrigated paddies of Uzbekistan. The rice is planted in spring, grown through the hot summer and harvested in autumn when the grains are fully mature. After threshing, the paddy is dried to the correct moisture level. Rice has been grown in the river valleys of Uzbekistan for many centuries, and modern varieties such as Laser are valued for their yield, uniform grain and cooking quality. The paddies are fed by water from the mountain rivers, and the hot summer sun allows the grain to ripen fully.
2. Processing and packaging details: The rice is hulled, milled, cleaned and sorted to remove broken grains, stones and foreign matter, then packed in 0.9 kg, 2 kg and 6.8 kg packs suitable for retail and catering. Packaging protects the rice from moisture and dust, and the range of pack sizes covers both households and restaurants. Each lot is checked for moisture, grain size and the share of broken grains before packing. Store in a dry, cool place in closed packaging, away from moisture and strong odours. Under these conditions rice keeps its quality for 12–18 months.
3. Health benefits and nutrition: Rice is a naturally gluten-free source of carbohydrates for energy and provides small amounts of protein, B vitamins and minerals. It is easy to digest and suitable for most diets. It combines well with vegetables, meat and pulses for balanced meals, and is suitable for all ages. Laser rice is widely used for Uzbek plov, as it keeps its shape and stays separate after cooking. It is also good for side dishes, stuffed vegetables and soups. For plov, rinse the rice well and soak for 30–60 minutes before adding it to the zirvak.
