Description

1. How it is grown and harvested: Central Asia’s dry, sunny climate has made drying the natural way to preserve fruit and berries for the winter for centuries. Low humidity and steady sunshine allow fruit to dry evenly and keep well, and many of these traditional products are still made using methods passed down through generations of farming families. Our Compote Mix combines dried fruits grown and dried in the orchards of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. Depending on the season, the blend typically includes dried apples, apricots, prunes, cherry plums, raisins and other dried fruits. Each fruit is harvested at ripeness and dried naturally to concentrate its flavour, so that the mix brings a rich, layered taste to the finished drink. Combining several fruits gives the compote a fuller, more balanced flavour: apples add freshness, apricots and raisins add sweetness, prunes add depth and colour, and cherry plums add a pleasant sourness.

2. Processing and packaging details: Each component is cleaned, sorted and inspected separately before blending in set proportions for a consistent taste from lot to lot. Stems, stone fragments, foreign matter and defective pieces are removed. The mix is packed in food-grade liners inside export cartons that keep it dry and clean during storage. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight and strong odours, in closed packaging. Under proper conditions the product keeps its quality for 12 months or more. Each lot can be supplied with export documentation, including a phytosanitary certificate and certificate of origin, on request.

3. Health benefits and nutrition: Compote made from dried fruit is a natural, refreshing drink that contains minerals such as potassium and magnesium, small amounts of vitamins and antioxidants from the fruit, and no artificial colours or flavours. It is a healthy alternative to sugary soft drinks, and sugar can be adjusted or omitted to taste. In Central Asian and Eastern European homes, compote made from dried fruit is a traditional everyday drink, served warm in winter and chilled in summer. Simply rinse, add to boiling water and simmer to make traditional compote (uzvar). The mix can also be used in stewed fruit, fruit soups, baking and dessert sauces. It is a strong product for retail, catering and food-service.
