Gardencells brings together dried fruits, nuts, legumes, rice and cooking oil from Uzbekistan. Fruits are dried in the sun with no added sugar or colourings, nuts come in shell and as kernels, and rice and Zigir oil are packed under the Barlas brand. Uzbek nuts — in shell and as kernels
Gardencells walnuts, almonds, peanuts and pistachios come from Uzbekistan, where long, hot summers give nuts a full, rounded flavour. Walnuts are graded by kernel colour — Light, Brown and Dark — and also sold as halves; almonds come in several in-shell varieties as well as natural, peeled and salted kernels.
Peanuts come raw or roasted, in shell and as kernels, and our pistachios in shell are roasted and salted. Allergens are listed on every product page. We supply retailers, confectioners and food producers in wholesale volumes — ask us for a quote.
Dried fruits — Uzbek orchards, dried in the sun
Our raisins, dried apricots and prunes are dried in the sun the traditional Central Asian way, with no added sugar or colourings. Many raisins and apricots come in two calibres — size 1 is the largest. The range also includes compote mix, dried apple, cherry plum, mulberry, barberry, rosehip and oleaster.
Most of our dried apricots, the Golden raisins and the compote mix contain sulphites (E220); this is stated on each of those product pages. We ship wholesale volumes for retail packing, bakeries and food production — send us a request for a quote.
Beans, chickpeas and mung from Uzbekistan
Gardencells legumes are grown in Uzbekistan and sold dry, ready to soak and cook: chickpeas, mung beans, Royal and red beans, speckled “Rare” beans and black-eyed beans. Mung also comes as flour and as dal — hulled and split — for quick-cooking dishes and baking.
For snacking there are roasted chickpeas as well. We supply consistent wholesale lots for retail packing, restaurants and food production — ask us for a quote.
Zigir oil by Barlas — Samarkand-style cooking oil
Zigir is a traditional cooking oil from Samarkand. Barlas Zigir Classic blends flaxseed, sesame and cottonseed oils; Zigir Premium adds walnut oil to the same blend. Both come in 0.5 l and 1 l bottles and are sold by the bottle.
Use Classic for plov and everyday cooking, and Premium for plov, dressings and finishing dishes. Both contain sesame; Premium also contains walnut. For wholesale quantities, ask us for a quote.
Uzbek rice by Barlas — Laser, Alanga and Devzira
Barlas rice from Uzbekistan is sold by the pack: Laser in 0.9, 2 and 6.8 kg packs, Alanga and Devzira in 0.9 kg packs. Uzbek rice is the traditional base for plov and also suits pilafs, soups and side dishes.
Prices are per pack, and the weight of each pack counts towards the 30 kg order limit and the delivery cost. For retail or restaurant supply in larger quantities, ask us for a wholesale quote.
